各单位会计工作岗位的设置应与本单位业务活动的规模、特点和管理要求相适应。通常，业务活动规模大、业务过程复杂、经济业务量较多的管理较严格的单位，会计机构会相应较大，会计机构内部的分工会相应较细，会计人员和岗位也相应较多;相反，业务活动规模小、业务过程简单、经济业务量较少和管理要求不高的单位，会计机构相应较小，会计机构内部的分工会相应较粗，会计人员和岗位也相应较少，因此，会计岗位可以一人一岗、一人多岗或者一岗多人。一般而言，小型企业大都“一人一岗”和“一人多岗”，而大、中型企业“一岗多人”的情况则比较普遍。
想要申请，需先明确会计岗位职责，如下所示：1.按照国家会计法，在公司财务主管的指导、监督下做好记帐付帐报帐工作。2.协助财务预算、审核、监督工作，按照公司及政府有关部门要求及时编制各种财务报表，并报送相关部门，按照财务制度审核原始凭证和记帐凭证，建立并完善财务凭证，发现问题及时查实和向有关领导汇报。3.认真执行会计制度，按时做好记账、算账、报账工作，如实全面地反映公司资金活动情况，做到手续完备，内容真实，数据准确，帐目清楚，按期结报。4.负责员工报销费用的审核、凭证的编制和登帐;定期核对往来账款，及时清算应收应付款。5.负责公司费用、销售成本及利润的核算，妥善保管财务帐簿，会计报表和会计资料，保守财务秘密。会计师（accountant,缩写acct）指具有一定会计专业水平，经考核取得证书、可以接受当事人委托，承办有关审计、会计、咨询、税务等方面业务的会计人员。
